What is the difference between “spirituality” and “faith.” I hear this all the time, ‘I am spiritual but not religious.’ What does that mean? James gives us a good way to see the difference.
A mere profession of faith in Jesus isn’t enough to prove that you are right with God you have to show some concrete changes in your life. Therefore, “we are rescued by faith alone but not by a faith that remains alone.”
James says we aren’t earning a relationship with Jesus, we are heirs to a relationship with Him. A HUGE DIFFERENCE. We are rescued by grace; when you become a believer you become an heir. You are adopted into the family, and you become a child of the Father who is now your God.
