No Kings

The past week witnessed the No Kings protests, with organisers estimating that over 5 million people participated in more than 2,000 planned demonstrations. I recognise that we have a mixed sentiment among our podcast listeners. I support the sentiment of No Kings, except for one aspect. I have one King in my life, and that is the person of Jesus Christ. True Christianity holds that only Jesus, as the ultimate authority, can help us experience true fulfilment. Everything else simply doesn't measure up and tends to pull us away from being our true selves. In contrast, King Jesus helps us uncover our true humanity and our genuine selves. Colossians 1:1-14.
